How we help

  1. Message us on WhatsApp at +20 120 344 2201. Tell us who is travelling, including the ages of any children.
  2. Tell us about allergies, pregnancy, long-term conditions and medicines you already take.

  4. Collect your kit in store, or get free delivery to your hotel for orders from $30.

What a basic kit can include

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a packing checklist for travellers. It includes basic over-the-counter medicines and first-aid supplies. Here is a simple starting point. Our pharmacist adapts it to you.

Sun

  • Sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and UVA protection. The NHS advises at least 4-star UVA or the UVA logo in a circle.
  • After-sun care, such as aloe vera gel
  • A hat and sunglasses

On our shelves you will find sunscreens such as Disaar SPF 50+. See our sun care range.

Stomach

  • Oral rehydration salts
  • Hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol
  • Ask our pharmacist about anti-diarrhoea products. For children and in pregnancy, always ask first.

Allergies and insect bites

  • An antihistamine for allergy symptoms, such as loratadine
  • An anti-itch cream or gel for insect bites
  • Insect repellent with an active ingredient such as DEET or picaridin

Plasters and small injuries

  • Plasters and bandages
  • Antiseptic wound cleaner
  • Tweezers and a digital thermometer
  • A painkiller for pain and fever, such as paracetamol

See our first aid products.

Children

  • Children’s medicines come in different strengths. Ask our pharmacist before you buy, and follow the leaflet.
  • Pack sunscreen and a sun hat for every child. Keep babies under 6 months out of direct strong sunlight.
  • We also stock baby and kids’ products, such as Otrivin Baby saline drops and Johnson’s baby shampoo.

Before you travel and during your stay

If you take prescription medicines, bring enough from home, with copies of your prescriptions. Prescription-only medicines need a valid prescription here too.

For a ready shopping list, read what to buy at a pharmacy in Egypt.

A kit is for minor problems only. In an emergency in Egypt, call 123 for an ambulance.
